A Legacy of Giving
Our founder, Wallis Annenberg, was a true visionary who forged her own groundbreaking philanthropic path for the good of others. She leaves a rich and enduring legacy of generosity, compassion and impact that changed Los Angeles, the country, and the world.
Her innovative giving spanned the arc of society and won many accolades, including the 2022 National Humanities Medal. Wallis supported animals, conservation and worked toward the day when no older person would have to suffer social isolation. She believed that when the performing arts, education and journalism thrive, we all benefit. Wallis helped house the unhoused, and gave generously to scores of nonprofits and community organizations to improve the lives of young people, women, the LGBTQ+ community, and those impacted by California wildfires.
Wallis Annenberg established this Legacy Foundation in 2011 and endowed it with the resources and the mandate to continue philanthropic work that was close to her heart.
